basic Mechanics:
In order to use this item, spend 5 mind points to automatically win any game of chance. You must announce the call “CHEAT” and you are considered the winner of the round at the most base level. (In 21, you would beat the dealer, but not get a black jack) As far as onlookers are aware, of course, you’ve done nothing wrong. Each successive use of this item within the current 12s increases the Mind cost to use by 5 Mind Points, up to a maximum of 20 Mind points per use. (For example, the first cost is 5, the second 10, the third 15...)
In the event of multiple people attempting to use a CHEAT item during the same game, conduct a brief round of betting with each person “bidding” additional Mind points. (This is considered an OOG activity). The person that bids the most wins the game, though the Mind Points are spent. When bidding in a Cheat war, you may only raise and never match an opponent’s bid.
This gizmo’s use is countered by a character with Proficient Social Influence that has been observing the game for at least one minute, by spending 5 mind points to declare “Check Your Sleeves”. This does not reveal the character has been cheating. If a player with Proficient Social Influence and the VETERAN achievement has been observing the game for at least one minute, when they declare “Check Your Sleeves!” it reveals the character has been cheating.
Use of this item constitutes a CvC action when other characters are involved.
MASTER ACHIEVEMENT: Villon
Mechanic: A master of larceny is never unarmed. A character with this item may spend 1 Resolve and perfectly conceal a Melee Small, Firearm, or a Thrown weapon for 4 hours or until the next 12s, whichever is longer. This weapon is considered out of game and ignored until revealed. Neither the concealed weapon or the gloves can be stolen or looted without the consent of the owner of the Dead Man’s Hand until the next 12s. This must be written down on your character sheet for the effect to be in effect with a time of when it was used.

In addition to the normal use of this weapon, this gun can be brandished with a flourish and be used to complete a unique Coup De Gras on a target.
In order to use this item on another target currently in bleedout, the user spends 1 Resolve and calls “Killing Blow: Execute, Lose 1 Infection”. The target always loses an Infection even if they are later resurrected by a skill or item. This loss of infection supersedes or cancels any skill or effect that prevents Infection loss.
This item may not be used if Fractured.

Basic Mechanics:
Any characters participating in games of chance within the Gambling Parlor can spend 5 mind points and call “Check Your Sleeves!” to counter the use of CHEAT items, but are unaware of the attempted Cheating attempt. If a character possesses the Veteran achievement and counters the Cheat item as above, they are also aware the character attempted to cheat and can bring this to the attention of other characters if they choose. A card or explanation of this effect must be clearly posted in the area of this room augment to communicate this ability.
MASTER ACHIEVEMENT: Fiscal Mysticist
Mechanic: A player with the Fiscal Mysticist achievement can engage in any act of commerce (gambling, selling wares, performing services, etc.) for at least 15 minutes. At the end of those 15 minutes, they may spend 1 Resolve and choose up to four different targets in the next hour to regain Mind points equal to the amount of Currency they spent with the Fiscal Mysticist, up to a maximum of 20 mind. This effect is repeatable, but you must wait at least 1 hour between each use. A character may not benefit from this ability more than once per 12s.

Basic Mechanics:
This armor provides 10 points of Armor, and requires at least 50% coverage in the form of a heavy coat, duster, or jacket of some kind. This armor rating cannot be increased, or stacked with any other source of Armor.
When the wearer of this Coat enters bleed out, the user may call “Immune to Killing Blow, 1 Minute”. This prevents any effects that require a Killing Blow to activate. This effect works even if the item is broken or reduced to 0 armor points.
MASTER ACHIEVEMENT: Mercenary
In reaction to entering bleedout, the bearer may spend 1 resolve and gain 1 fracture to call out “Immune to killing blow during bleedout, cannot be moved”. They may end this effect at any point before their bleedout ends and gain 1 body. This ability cannot be used if Fractured.

Mechanic: If a player attempts to use Awareness to counter the use of this item, you may spend 1 Resolve to call “Cheat, no Social Influence!”. This prevents another person from detecting the cheating attempt or stopping it from occurring. A character with the Veteran achievement may spend 1 Resolve to call “Veteran Awareness” to realize that the cheating occured after 15 minutes have passed from when they make the call. The Veteran has no physical evidence the cheating occured and only has their word.

MASTER ACHIEVEMENT: Free Radical
Mechanic: Spend 1 Resolve and you can instantly heal your own Mangled limb. Alternatively, you can spend 1 Resolve and 30 uninterrupted seconds focusing and channeling your psionic energies to instantly heal another target’s single Mangled limb.

Basic Mechanics:
When the Essex Entertainer’s Kit is created, the crafter must assign a character name to the kit. This Entertainer’s Kit is only usable by the person whose name is assigned to it. Example: Essex Entertainer’s Kit (Rajah).
The kit must be stationary and opened to use, and the performer must stay within 5 paces of the item at all times during the use of Social Influence.
The user may spend 1 Resolve during a performance that takes at least 10 minutes to complete to call “Entertain!”. They may choose up to five different targets to regain 10 Mind at the end of the performance. During a performance using this kit, you may spend an additional Resolve to add +10 mind to the effects of the Essex Entertainer’s Kit (up to a maximum of 20 Mind).
The Entertainer’s Kit counts as a container for the purpose of attaching Container Traps, and be opened safely without setting off the trap by the assigned character.
